After he fell out of the window it didn't show him really falling to his death. Who's to say he didn't survive and felt what Yoda felt when the order went out to kill the Jedi and decided to go into hiding for now till he could get back his strength and take down the dark sith lord

Frankly if Yoda and mace met back up somewhere safe they could have caused some serious damage to the empire. Obi-wan to watch their back, maybe find Ahsoka. That’s a dangerous team.

I have always loved the idea that Mace survived. In my own head canon he has amnesia. Maybe he was picked up by a group of slavers and after healing his injuries he was sent to fight in a arena. Becoming champion and eventually earning his freedom. He gets little pieces of his memory back. This kind of story would explain his absence from events. In the Mandalorian timeline you could have him or Luke or even Boba Fett find him. Boba Fett because of his ties to the in underworld would make the most sense.

Here’s a thought and just… stay with me on this… who’s to say he fell all the way to the ground.. he could have landed on a vehicle traveling along. Then he goes neutral Jedi, being balanced between Sidious & Vader While Obi-Wan & Yoda were alive…

He was smart and strong. Many jedi have fell from great heights and survived. He could survive lay low and heal. He would wait for the right time to come out in the open. He may make small rebel like attack and they wouldn't think it was him.
