Lost your Google Pixel Buds Pro? Let’s help reunite you with your earbuds as quickly as possible¹:

✅ For Pixel phones, swipe down and long press on the BluetoothⓇ icon, then tap settings by your Pixel Buds’ name¹
🚀 For non-Pixel Android phones, launch the downloadable Google Pixel Buds app
🔎 Tap on “Find device” to see the available options
🔔 You can ring your earbuds if they’re actively connected and charged²
📍 If your location history is on, you can also see the last place your earbuds were connected to your phone

You need to put low powered Bluetooth into the case as well, make it so you could find the case when the buds are in it. The ringing function is worthless unless the buds are connected to your phone.

realistically, if the buds are forgotten somewhere, 98% they will be in the case and the case is closed. Who doesnt put the buds in the case and close immediately after use

maybe make the two be connected even with the case closed...

Needs active tracking like airpods. Have the case AND buds ping with Bluetooth off nearby devices. Knowing where they were last connected to my device doesn't do me much good if I get there and they aren't there anymore because someone took them.

This feature does not work after your rollout of "Timeline" to replace "Location History":

When I use my old google account (Timeline not yet rolled out - it is still the old Location History), it works just fine. When I use it on my new account (Timeline feature rolled out and replaced Location History) it does not work. On the settings for my Pixel Buds Pro on my Pixel 8, it says "Enable Location and Location History" to use this feature. I obviously can't for Location History because it's now Timeline. It really should say "Enable Location and Timeline". Also - in my Location Permissions, when I click "view system" - Google Location History is set to "Never allow" - EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TIMELINE ENABLED. THERE IS NO WAY TO ENABLE THE OLD LOCATION HISTORY/GIVE IT PERMISSIONS AFTER THE TIMELINE ROLLOUT (it just sends me to my Activity Settings, where I can only toggle Timeline). Fun fact - remember my old account? When I use that account, Google Location History DOES have the necessary permissions. 

Would LOVE an update - if anyone has any.

Doesn't work. Even with the new find my device offline implementation. Can someone in Google take a look at this feature not working even with history location activated?

I'll also add that if you lose 1 of your buds, the location feature just shows you the location of the 1 you haven't lost....I'm missing 1 right now which will 100% have connected to my phone and then I've walked out of range and there is no record of it

It would be great to add "smart" tag integration, guiding for earbud's case on Google maps easily wherever it was lost and make it ring when you are close to it!

USELESS FEATURE!!!
If Buds are not in my ears, they are back in their Case. When I lost them, I lost them in their Case. This feature is worthless if it don't work with no Case...I rest my Case.

This can be helpful but I lost mine with my buds in the case so this doesn’t help at all. Also I have trouble even getting to my connected devices anyways or the app.

I think google need to add more features to the find my device app for devices that aren't just phones. Because buds or headphones location tracking doesn't work, once you reset your headphone or earbuds. There is also no way to delete/hide an old headphone or earbud from the find my device app. That option is only available to phones. I believe this system needs to be updated.

What would be actually helpful is if the case rang. I misplace it all the time. It easily slides out of my pocket due to the smoothness of the case. Also speaking of the case, a locking mechanism for the lid would be nice. God forbid you drop the case from a standing position in public, the buds shoot out in different directions. Even a slight fall and they spring out.

How do you find the case? The location tracking only gives you a general sense of where it is. It's nowhere near precise enough to actually locate the device
