To think that this entire thing likely happened in 15 seconds

I like how he tells the story. Felt the urgency in everything going on.

My grandfather was incredibly closed off about his time in Vietnam, until a wife of one of the men he served with got a list of names together. She planned an annual reunion for the men to get together. Eventually each family would host it and we traveled the country going every summer. The stories I heard will stay with me for a lifetime. Thank you to all those who served ❤🤍💙

The chuckling at the end and his attitude is such a change of pace to so many stories we hear. He's still got his humor even in such a moment in life

My uncle served with the French in Dien Bien Phu. Spent time as a POW as a result. He talked about it openly. I think it was part of his healing process to get the war out of his head.

I've watched and listened to this man's story many times since it was posted. His ability to convey his time in war with humor, sadness, fear, and excitement is simply amazing.

Celebrating the living veterans feels like all we can do. But the dead feel no pride, honor, victory. The dead do not even get to feel sadness, defeat. Nothing. Pay respect to those who died

His full story is intense. Should have a mini series that is based on him and his experiences during his service in the Vietnam war...

what an amazing man...he's long interview is unreal..one of the best plus 4 full tours!!! Such a good story teller too. I love the last comment here from the old Laurel and Stan Hardy comedy team about being in a fine mess.
