Commentary on this Alain Connes lecture:
"There is a very strange thing, there is a thermodynamics of noncommutative spaces...they are not static objects...
It's a topos which should be very natural to a musician. Because it's a topos where you have a positive line, the line of frequencies you know, when you multiply frequency by two you go to the next octave and it's very nice for the ear. When you multiple by 3r you transpose and so on. I mean the action of the integers by multiplication on the frequencies is extremely natural."

Alain Connes Dance of the Primes Pythagorean music math
Interview with Connes
"For a rotation whose two rotation angles have a rational ratio, the paths will eventually reconnect;"
So that is how the time wavelength is derived - from the rotation angles on the noncommutative torus rotation as the "zero point" in space.
Debate with Alain Connes on the truth of mathematics as the truth of reality.
Alain Connes clearly positions himself on this terrain when he insists upon the reality of mathematical idealities, for example, in the case of prime numbers, the infinity of which is "a reality every bit as incontestable as physical reality" (p. 13).
"prime numbers (...) constitute a more stable reality than the material reality
that surround us" (p. 12)
"every bit as constraining as physical reality, but one that's far more stable than physical reality, for it is not being located in space-time" (p. 28).
This is so wild!!!
"mathematical reality, in its very structure, its internal harmony, is an inexhaustible source of organization" (p. 125).
