This does show how sa2 Shadow had no motivation besides Maria’s last wish. If he remembered her wanting him to say, be a Burger King boss, then that’ll be what he does, completely dropping his prior conception of her wish

At least the game sort of has a reason for this where it's implied Gerald Robotnik implanted a false memory in Shadow, and only in talking to Amy did the real one get remembered. It's still incredibly funny that Shadow in Canon goes, "Yeah! She wants me to kill them all! Wait, what's that??? Uh huh, uh oh no..." in like 2 minutes
