Ceasefire Talks with Hamas Stall; U.S. Conducts Second Aid Drop in Gaza

Three days of negotiations with Hamas over a cease-fire in Gaza and the release of Israeli hostages ended Tuesday without a breakthrough, less than a week before the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the U.S. carried out a second aid drop from the air alongside the armed forces of Jordan. But humanitarian groups say aid drops by parachute are simply not going to fend off the famine that is beginning to spread in Gaza.
