This question is presented in Stewart's calculus textbook (#45, pg 103 of 8e early transcendentals) and the solution states that the limit does not exist. It seems pretty clear that it should be negative infinity.

what happpens if it was + 1/abs(x) instead of minus. would the funtion be negative infinity, UND or 0?
