What did you think of "A Goofy Movie" when it first came out?

One of my favourite movies of all time!
Fun fact: The lead animator of Roxanne was a woman called Nancy Beiman. She handled most of Roxanne in the movie. In a letter to me she revealed they decided to have her animated by a man for the intro scene to give her a different vibe more fitting to Max's fantasy image of her.

I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS MOVIE LAST YEAR, I’m just so sad Roxanne never showed up in the sequel this movie needs a third movie with Roxanne in it

"How many cups of sugar does it take to get to moon?" My favorite line and one of my favorite movies. I'm such a Disney nerd and proud of it 😁

I had a crush on Roxanne in 1995, but as a kid I never thought that dream sequence objectified or sexualized her, she was just idealized and really pretty. Boys of a certain age daydream about girls and emotions run strong, but when you’re like 12 years old it’s usually not sexual. I related to Max so much in so many ways, especially because of his uncomfortable relationship with his dad. Probably why I love this movie still. Btw, the concert venue in Los Angeles is a carbon copy of the Inglewood Forum!

Still one of the best movies Disney made, sad how they went out compared what they use to be.

It's kinda insane that children today don't know what cassettes and car lighters are. Makes me feel hella old and I'm not even 30 yet

I'unno if this counts or not, but when I was rewatching the final concert as an adult, I noticed that Powerline isn't exactly smiling when Max shows up onstage, but instead trying to contain frustration in front of the audience. Considering a random guy and his son showed up on stage and broke a very expensive screen with his security guard's face, I don't blame him.

A Goofy movie is definitely one of my favorite films when I was growing up watching and I definitely didn't know some of the details by Pauly shore, and power line being a reference to 70s rock stars one of my favorites and I'm glad the videos like this exist cuz he gives you more details about some of your favorite films in 3 years it's going to be the 30th anniversary I wonder if they're going to release it in theaters again I mean most of the adults who for artists from have their own kids I want to it'll be a perfect way to bonding with them just like how goofy is trying to bond with his son life imitating art in my opinion.

I also like to point out that there are two MTV stars in this movie, Pauly Shore (from his Totally Pauly series (which I’m also surprised that you didn’t mention the series in this video)) and Julie Brown (from her Just Say Julie series (Who played one of the secondary characters of the film named Lisa)).

That was no cassette, that was an 8-track, which was outdated even in the mid ‘90s.

An actual Michael Jackson character is in the movie aside from Powerline... In the "On the Open Road" song in the limo you'll see a glittery glove sticking out of the sun roof.

As a kid I couldn’t stand Pete’s presence in the movie, but as you get older you begin to understand where he’s coming from a bit more. You might not agree with his parenting style, but he IS there, building memories with his son. Ideally you’re Loved AND Respected as a parent. As a kid for whatever reason I thought Max was selfish, because Goofy is so nice and lovable, and Max was so pouty for most of the movie, but Max DID go on the road trip (If begrudgingly), and he's actually enjoying himself towards the end of it. Goofy throws a hissy fit just because Max wants to take a detour and do ONE thing that he likes doing. It's just interesting how your perspective changes with age & experience.
