"DEAD CONNECTION" is an action shooting game released by TAITO in 1992.
As part of a special team of law enforcement officers tasked with eradicating the evil that has infested big city, you must gather the evidence needed to take down the Nerozzia crime family.
Armed with only a badge and a gun, can you lift the veil of darkness that lays across the city?

Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.

Originally released on the Taito F2 Hardware in July of 1992, Taito's Dead Connection is a shooting action game in which the player assumes the role of one of four detectives tasked with declaring a four man war against the nefarious Nerozzia Crime Family.

Storywise, the game takes place in a big city in America sometime in the 1950s when the nation is in danger of falling into the grip of the mafia. With illegal narcotics and criminals flooding the streets with impunity, four detectives - Philip Lloyd, James Chandler, Eddie Carlton, and Gary Cougar make a pact to bring down the infamous Nerozzia Crime Family once and for all.

Control wise, players use an 8 way joystick for movement and aiming, and two buttons - one for firing your weapon (or to perform a melee attack should the player be very close to an enemy), and the other one to dodge enemy fire.

The goal of the game is to clear each stage by clearing a quota of enemies before time runs out. Once the last batch of enemies are killed, a boss character will show up with one or two goons, and only by defeating them can the player go to the next stage.

During each stage, the player can pick up items like evidence to increase points, food to recover lost life energy, and weaponry such as a revolver that adds extra firepower, a shotgun which can do a wider spread of damage, and a Tommy Gun which allows for the player to spray automatic gunfire as long as the player has ammunition remaining. In the case that either the shotgun or the Tommy Gun runs out of ammo, the gun will jam, and the player will say, "Dammit!", before disposing of the gun.

Taito Made a game about mobsters and the main characters are detectives fighting against mobsters. It's a decent game but I'm still waiting for Parodius Da, Twinbee Yahho, Monster Maulers, Gradius 4 and Salamander 2.
