People are commenting that the Forester is 40k and the Compass is only 32. However a Forester is only 40k if you load it down with all available options. Actually it’s a touch under 40 according to a build I did on the Subaru website. The 32k Compass is the bare bones Trailhawk version. The version Ryan has in this video is the loaded version. So if you compare loaded to loaded Forester to Compass, Subaru wins hands down price wise. Plus more ground clearance and more reliability.

Surprised that for the TrailHawk edition they put the Falken Wildpeak HT and not the Wildpeak A/T Trail which is more suited for this vehical.

They put that hurricane engine in everything now, good engine, huge improvement on the poop tigershark! Only downside is that these things are so expensive.

What I have figured out with my Jeep Grand Cherokee is that ROCK mode is more of an OFF ROAD mode. I use it for all types of terrains when I am off the beaten path. Sand mode, Mud mode, and Snow do not allocate power to the wheels with traction well. Rock mode does.

A good old fashion locker would really help @Jeep.

The Forester Wilderness has better torque vectoring in extreme situations. You didn’t have to use momentum like you did with this Compass. At the Compass AWD system didn’t overheat like it did last time.

As a Subaru fan, I like seeing that the Forester is in the comparison with some Jeep crossovers and the Bronco Sport.

I am glad to hear that the Jeep Compass has the 20:1 "granny" gear reduction that can be selected in rough patches. I am surprised more SUV's do not have this feature.

The 2024 Compass Trailhawk comes standard with AT3W tires and make a hell of a difference....

Out of those 3 you mentioned for a pick, I agree. Living in the same state you know all these hills mild to steep are a lousy place to challenge brakes for long periods of time. I much prefer a proper transmission to shift down with to engine brake more than riding the pads.

I have a 2023 JEEP compass trailhawk elite, installed inch and a half lift with 235/65/17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3 tires. Looks great!

Test drove a 2023 Compass a few months ago. I really liked the performance. It wasn't neck-snapping, but it was quick enough to be an enjoyable drive. The interior is very nice too, but it was just a little too cramped for a 6' 3" person with long legs. I don't like my right knee resting against a hard center console. Its not that its so small I can't drive it, but there are roomier options for the price (which is too high imo).

Whether the Ford Bronco Sport, the Jeep Compass, or the Subaru Forester Wilderness, all three are excellent options. You just have to choose which one suits you best. I'd choose the Bronco Sport.

At least the Compass AWD system didn’t overheat like it did last time but it’s still not as good as the Forester Wilderness.

The reflection at the beginning is one of the reasons why I dont understand why car companies are using piano black. What is the benefit over just a matte plastic? It scratches, it reflects and smudges. Just a terrible interior design choice.

Always love your videos. Not done watching yet though. Its still a jeep. I wouldnt buy. But still ready to see what happens!

Another great video, great drone shots too. Why do they badge this a "Trailhawk" then fail to put good AT tires on it, even when topped out at 46K? That's just a poor marketing decision, makes no sense at all.

Not a tire issue. It wasn't moving power around. Opposite corners spin a lot but no power shifting happens.
