This scene in sub made me tear up, but the scene in dub made me burst into tears. The sub is good, but it was kind of carried by the echo effect which the dub didn't even need since the performance was just that powerful. Stephanie Young is Robin's best voice actress and no one can change my mind on this.

Usually you feel the most emotion in the language of your mother tongue. Robins voice actor definitely contributes and the overall feel of the characters relationship with each other all contribute to the impact of this scene.

Side Note: It doesn’t matter what version of One Piece you watch, everyone has their own preference, and we all need to respect that and not shit on each other, especially the sub elitists and the dub elitists (never encountered one but still). I myself am a dub watcher (grew up with it first), but I have no problem watching anime in sub. Ngl sometimes it sounds better! Just like how sometimes the dub sounds better! The way I see it, it all depends on the anime you’re watching. My point is…different language but same anime, right? Just keep calm and enjoy the show! Y’all have a great day

for me it’s hard to feel the emotional impact as much if i don’t speak the language. i get there is subtitles but it hits harder when u can hear it in your own language so for me it’s gotta be dub .
