Join me on a journey as I spend 1 day in Medan, Indonesia - a beautiful city in North Sumatra. As a European female traveller, I had the opportunity to leave from Australia to explore the rural farming areas and the bustling capital city. During my visit, I experienced the unique culture of Indonesia, especially during Ramadan. From flights and immigration tips to my raw and honest experiences, I'll share everything you need to know about traveling to this Muslim country.

I stayed at the lovely d'primahotel Kuala Namu, just minutes away from the airport. I discovered a stunning farming property by the river, filled with palm trees, banana trees, bamboo, and more. Later in the day, I joined a group of friends from the Czech Republic to explore Medan CBD, visit the castle, and immerse ourselves in the local markets. We even joined a massive Ramadan celebration, adding to the richness of my experience.
