In a Wednesday Bible Study titled Wine/Liquor, delivered October 19, 2022, Mike Ray of Hopewell Baptist Church, Napa, CA, says that the fruit of the vine at the Last Supper could be apple juice, grape juice, or orange juice.

I'm no botanist, but I'm pretty sure that apples and oranges grow on trees and not vines.

I didn't know apples and oranges grew off the vine.

Haha my old pastor must have been a fan of this guy. His story was a little different thougg. He insisted there was no alcoholic wine in the bible, it was actually just really good grape juice

Jack Hyles' reasoning as to why it couldn't possibly be acholic wine but rather pure fresh grape juice, is because the contents of the cup represented Jesus' incorruptible blood.

IDK, maybe Mike should have used that one ?🤔

I would love to have orange juice straight off the vine

But they don't want a talk about Jesus creating barrels of wine at a party.

It’s a freaking Seder supper. These things have been celebrated exactly the same way for 3000 years, with wine.

😆 Jesus turned water to wine at a party. He just says to not overdo like it... And they danced too, didn't Footloose teach us nothing?

I agree he was wrong on that particular point. The drink for the Lord's supper was unfermented grape juice and I don't believe the Bible allows for anything else. However, overall that message wasn't terrible even though he erred at that one point. I'd much rather a preacher discourage drinking alcohol even though I now know the Bible does not totally forbid its use. It's often discouraged because it can easily lead to drunkenness with terrible consequences. I don't trust myself with alcoholic drinks at all, but I can't prove that just taking a drink of it is a sin. I can however prove that it is NOT a sin to own and drink "strong drink".. Btw, my father was a very serious alcoholic and I grew up with that. Let's just say it wasn't good for me and the rest of my family AT

You are very misleading with this… you’re making it sound like he’s referring to orange juice or apple juice… but he is clearly referring to grape juice…fruit of the vine, means just picked and not made into alcohol… I don’t know mr. Ray, but your making him
Look like he’s misleading people when in fact you are the one misleading your viewers.
