(2023) Face ID Not Working (Not Available) - How To Fix It!

In this updated video for 2023 and iOS 16 I talk about one of the most annoying iPhone issues: Face ID Not Working! You may get a screen saying Face ID is Not Available or asking you to move your iPhone a little lower (or higher). Either way, I'll show how to fix this! Hope you like it!

Hey bro. None of your steps worked but thank you so much for making an effort. You’re a legend. My Face ID stopped working for several hours today, it would not recognise my face, I tried to reset it and it continued not recognising my face. I tried everything and then I gave up until suddenly it just came back to life even after Apple Support said there’s an issue with my software and I need to bring it to an Apple Store for repair. Never trust an online technician. Keep trying and trying.

A smudge on the sensor was the trick. I never would have realized it. Thanks a bunch for the advice. Worked like a charm!!!

Give your phone a firm tap against your palm it’s a sensor issue should work after that but you will most likely need to replace your phone, so far it’s still working for me

Don’t reset the faceid. Mine is now stuck n won’t let me put a new one

Oh my! All I had to do was remove my screen guard and reset my Face ID in the setting, now it’s working. Thanks a lot for the video

Wow. Deleting the previous failed attempts worked. I was having trouble since this morning. After I deleted and restarted my phone it was doing that thing over and over again. I wasn’t able to use Face ID. And now it’s fixed thanks to you.

Thanks for sharing this, the screenprotector was the cause the faceid wasn't working, I've removed it and cleaned, tried to setup and it worked.

Got up this morning to find the facial recognition feature on my iPhone 15 Pro was no longer working. I did the obvious and gave the front facing camera a clean, to no avail. I hopped on YouTube and this was the first video I found related to my issue. In the opening minutes you explained how software updates can suspend the facial recognition feature if you aren’t installing the latest version when it becomes available.I paused this video, went into my settings to find iOS 17.5.1 had dropped but it hadn’t automatically installed. So I manually downloaded and installed it and within 9 minutes facial recognition was back up and running! Thank you for a super informative video which resulted in a straight forward, quick fix which in turn saved me a 74 kilometre round trip, in a really hot car!
