2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory review – is it really the BEST naked bike?

The 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 is finally here – complete with a kissable new face, delicious new semi-active suspension, a filthy underbranced new swingarm and the reddest seat this side of Fifty Shades of Grey. But is it any fun? Join me for a quick ride and find out as I mentally compare it to the KTM Super Duke 1290.

Great review. I’ve owned 2 of these bikes, 2016 and 2019 models and your comments are spot on. The sound is intoxicating!

The answer to the tuono’s urgency on road and compared to the KTM SD is increase the number of rear teeth on the rear sprocket by 2-3 it means each gear is shorter meaning you get the extra urgency especially at lower speeds and you can enjoy changing gears and the quick change/auto blipper much more. Really transforms the rsv4 and tuono… especially as the tuono factory is quite a bit cheaper than the KTM SD especially when you pay for the tech pack to get the blipper etc

That Ducati in the beginning sure looks like a Guzzi to me...

Great video!

I own a 2020 model. Best bike I’ve ever ridden/owned. I did test ride a 2020 Super duke r but fell for the Tuono instantly. Coming from a superbike it made sense and fitted my riding style better. However test riding a Tuono behind some chap on a touring bike is never going to show its full potential, it must have been so frustrating for you?
Tip to anyone thinking of buying a Tuono… Leave the anti wheelie off at all times, you just need good throttle control or just buy a 600 instead lol!

I ride a Tuono v4 1000 to a Superduke test ride. Concluded exactly, precisely as you did. Traded poise and high rpm seductiveness of Tuono for punch at any rpm and rowdy road fun of the KTM. Ergos are more relaxed and it will take big bumps well too. You have to ride the Tuono fast to find its sweet spot. Both great.

I would love to take one for a test ride but the nearest dealer is 1200kms away! From all reports, this is a terrific bike to have a lot of fun with. Really appreciate the effort made with your reviews brother. A big G'day from Oz mate.

Did no one notice the chap almost drop the bike in the background during the opening?

I have a 17 Factory. I absolutely love it, it does everything really well. Awesome bikes, I think I will change it for the new one next year.

I've changed my 2016 Tuono for a 2020 SD GT. I appreciate the comfort but still miss the V4. I have to admit the 2021 SDR is better then the 2020 SDR, but I still like the Tuono more. But the SD GT comes very close.

Having sold my '19 Tuono Factory for this Superduke the first time I rode it, I could not agree more with your summary mate. This bike is better in every possible sense on the road and you can't stop giggling every time you twist the throttle regardless of speed or revs. Those that insist the Tuono is better haven't ridden both back to back on the road or aren't pure bikers in the sense of riding bikes for the smile on your face.

Nice bike. Curious if you have had a chance to ride the new S1000R.

Looks like a MOTO GUZZI that pulled away first, same family as the Aprilia. Aprilia tuono all day long, still the best soundtrack, and super naked ever. Long live the Aprilia v4's. And you had a good look at the blonde lady at the start.❤❤

Both Superduke and tuono are legendery motorcycles but for the road I really think the superduke has bit more giggle factor

Awesome review but no Super duke, looks as good as a Tuono or sounds like one 😎 KTMs look like Lego 😅

I almost bought a 1000 v4 Tuono a few years ago. That was an awesome bike too, not much different in reality. I love the v4 engine but it's a bit too much for the road. Shame the baby Tuono isn't a v4, now that would get my interest!

Has anyone come across heated grips for the 21 Tuono yet?

Worst review I've ever watched, you were riding an aprilia but spent all your time talking up the superduke
