I started during beta 1.7.3, but older versions are more interesting to me imo. Right now I'm making a mod for alpha 1.0.16 single and multi-player that works around the fact the tile entities don't save in multi-player by not fixing the issue, but instead putting huge emphasis on how blocks interact with each other.
