Zero Dark Thirty Striper Fishing, Lake Moultrie SC, Capt Joe Dennis, J Hook Charters May 2003

In March 2023 I attended the Palmetto Sportsman’s Classic and while I was there I had the opportunity to fish with Captain Joe Dennis from Father Son Outdoors TV and the owner of J Hook Charters. Joe has been using my thumpers for years and even featured it on his show a couple of times. My son Eric and I had literally just driven in from Texas at 1 am and met Joe at 4:30 to start our fishing adventure. The fish were running super shallow 10-15 feet so we kept the thumper off for this early bite. We used blue back herring Carolina rigged on Catch the Fever Striper Stealth rods to catch these nice striper. The limit in SC was 3 per person with a minimum length of 23” so we caught plenty of nice fish including a couple of doubles!
