The Lupus Foundation of America supports research that can have the greatest impact on the lives of people with lupus within the shortest time possible. The Foundation supported Dr. Joseph Ahearn of the Allegheny Health Network's Autoimmunity Institute to identify biomarkers that are now part of the ADVISE(R) test helping to improve early diagnosis of lupus.

It's nice to hear that after all these years, there may be something positive on the horizon for diagnosing us. I went through torture trying to get a diagnosis. Sadly, I asked a doctor to test me for it and he told me outright that I didn't have it, no bloodwork or anything. I was so new to my symptoms that I took his word for it. I think there needs to be training of the doctors to also realize that while we don't have medical degrees, we are pretty informed on when our bodies are not functioning properly.

Can someone tell me what kind of test I should ask my doctor to order for this? I wish this was more specific. I have failed so many arthritis treatments and have always wondered if I have lupus and not autoimmune arthritis.

Is there anyone who will help me?
My ANA is negative, anti ds dna, crp, protein in urine is all normal.creatinine in blood also normal.but i have anemia, platelets and WBC are normal.Hb is 10.66.but i have low grade fever, knee pain(not so much high), i take calcium for 2 months but it is not totally cured.But the pain is little bit lessen.but recently i also feel the pain on my left hand joint.i have no rashes in my body, no sunlight related problem.But when it is winter i can see red spot on my leg, in summer the red spot becomes vanished.Doctor said i have no lupus.but I'm little bit worried about that.My ESR level is 33.😢😢😢

Is this the Ana test? I was under the impression it is NOT accurate (told to me by physicians)
