Available across seven grades, including the Audi Q5 45 TFSI Sport driven here, the Q5 range offers more equipment, reworked styling and the introduction of mild-hybrid drivetrains across the board. The changes are met with moderate price increases.

Current indicative buyer preferences still appear to have the diesels in Australia still ahead of petrol variants, but only just . 55% diesel to 45% petrol, whereas the previous variants wree closer to 70% diesel to 30% petrol. Petrol variants will likely be PPF fitted locally, so that's worth taking into consideration as well. So care will be required to ensure that 91 ULP isn't accidently used .

I had a 2015 Mercedes GLC 250 diesel. I had it for 18 months & was not overly impressed apart from brilliant fuel economy & torque. I traded it for a 2017 Skoda Superb 206kw wagon, which beat the Merc on every front except fuel economy. Carrying capacity is far better too. I’ll never buy another SUV, simply because they will not handle as well as a lower to the ground car or wagon.
