Aftermarket is okay as long as its not junk

It’s true. As a consumer, on a budget, I like the after market options buuuut some things are just worth OEM. Especially if it cost a few bucks more or if it’s sensors.

I often like to go to performance or heavy duty parts when a part of mine fails.

If an OEM part fails prematurely, I’ll consider something else. If a car is high mileage, it might not be worth it to use an OEM part if you can get an aftermarket part that will outlast the rest of the cars life for less. There are certain things that I will only use OEM, sensors, electronics, etc.

Dorman are very often exactly the same part from exactly the same vendor. The Big Three manufacturers farm out most of their small part manufacturing needs. I’ve seen the exact same numbers as OE and the parts look identical.

Chrysler makes such subpar parts I'd argue aftermarket is better quality. No other car suffers "cracking battery terminals"

Solder mine in with 6awg, welding ground wire, to a 4 lug copper adapter and 50/50 solder dipped in Nokorode flux.
Yes my battery cables are better than OEM

i work for an auto parts store and that terminal reminded me of this one time where a customer comes in to get his battery checked because he "has trouble starting". When he popped the hood so I can put the tester on it, first thing I saw was the THICKEST layer of corrosion that was absolutely CAKED on the battery terminals. He proceeded to say that he "thought it was normal"

Hes right.. battery terminals are really important. But i prefer the solid brass aftermarket ones. Theyre tougher

i got some full brass battery terminals 20 years ago and they still look new lol

Really?! I have replaced a ton of these cheap OE wire hoop connectors. You are definately a fan-boy for factory parts but there is WAY better stuff out there to replace these terminals.

I’ve never seen a car with replaceable battery terminals as original equipment.

I have never seen a cracked battery terminal and I have been wrenching on cars since the 80's, so OEM cracks and I am going to replace it OEM, NOT

I usually go to the heavy duty brass clamps.

You really should go OEM for basic things like connectors, bolts and fasteners, engine mounts, bushings, when the quality of the material itself really matters

I agree on OEM standards, but there are better quality parts. In fact, a lot of OEM brands (Mopar, Land Rover etc.) just slaps their stickers onto other manufacturers’ products, but not that you wouldn’t know that! 👍🏽

Most of it is from lube techs and unqualified techs impacting or going gorilla tight on the terminals. You can see it was warped and then broke.

Why not get terminals that make a solid connection on all sides?

I hope you found a terminal protector for that positive terminal. I've seen from way too close what shorting a battery can do.

And remember everyone positive is always bigger than the negative, these are basically a if it doesn’t fit it isn’t the right one parts sure you can open up a negative to fit over that positive if you only had 2 negative battery connectors but I’d just buy one red one and one black one 😂😂
