I invested in a Corsair mechanical with Cherry MX reds. It's an incredible keyboard. Highly recommend mechanical for everyone, even non-gamers. They're just more accurate.

Ergonomics is much more important than most people realize. During my 35 years of construction and other physical work I could see why some people had to quit in their 30s while others were still going strong in their 60s. The same principles apply to working at a desk. Making your work station fit your body pays for itself in reduced fatigue and pain. Sometimes the little details make the biggest difference. I built my desk chair to fit my body taking leg, torso and arm length into consideration. Then I built a desk to fit myself while seated on that chair. The dimensions aren't much different than factory made products but it's very noticable by the end of the day. I never looked at a keyboard or mouse with ergonomics in mind but I will when I get a chance. Can you recommend a mouse that's designed for left hand use?

I've been typing for 35 years. On PC I've always used a "regular" (non-mechanical) keyboard. I've had a mechanical (cherry mx red switches) for about 6 months now, and I make WAY more typing errors than I ever did on a regular keyboard, due to the sensitivity of the keys. (Haven't seen my wpm increase either.) Most notably, when I'm trying to type '=' I frequently press 'k', and I get stray spaces when I'm going for bottom row letters.

Maybe it's because I've gotten lazy from using regular keyboards and I'm just so used to resting on and mashing the keys when I type; can't get accustomed to a lighter touch. The click noise is pretty satisfying though, and it definitely seems to be much higher quality (for six to 10 times the price it BETTER be!). It's definitely fun to change the backlight colors, and I got one with macro keys, which is also handy.

Backlit keys FTW! When working in a darker office, its invaluable.
Also love having at least 1 USB slot in the keyboard. Allows me to easily plug in a wireless mouse's USB or a USB light.

I have a little ducy mini, which I love. I wanted a more ergonomic setup with my laptop, and now I can have my ducky on my keyboard stand and the laptop further back on my desk. I love the rainbow effect of yours!

I inherited a Cyborg keyboard (not mechanical) from my fiancé and although it has the pretty lights, the problem is the finish on the keys wearing down, thus obliterating the letters. I'm somebody who does have to glance at the keys a lot, so this is very annoying. I wonder what your keyboard will be like for that? This one seemed promising and it is a bit old but the damage started in under a year.

Mechanical keyboards are definitely not just for gamers. There's actually a keyboard brand called "Code" who specifies in mechanical keyboards for programmers and so on. I recently ordered a mechanical keyboard with low profile keys. Which is exactly what I've been missing on mechanical keyboards :)

haven't had the best experiences with Havit in the past, all my havit products dont work anymore lol ! i would recommend Cougar for great prices and epicness, a newish company, the packaging alone is the best i have ever seen, also great innovation and quality from their side. They shipped me a keyboard personally from their HQ in china all the way to China to test it
