Love Linux Mint. Started using it on my desktop PC (and Zorin on my laptop) a couple of months ago. Loving it.

Minimizing desktop icons is... an interesting feature.

That's strange. As soon as I saw the title of this video I checked the Linux Mint homepage, and the LM 22 release was not there.

Fed up with Ubuntu choices, I switched from LinuxMint 21.2 to LMDE 6, and I'm happy with it. I prefer this rock solid snap free Debian base

Appreciate the overview! Just recently switched my laptop to mint and I'm having a blast. Chomping at the bit to switch my main computer over but I'm giving myself a few months with it before i take the plunge on my desktop.

I'm just waiting until the update manager updates to Linux mint 22. I'm running a laptop with Linux mint 21

Thanks Tom, great first look. Like it a lot also how you make Linux accessible to potential newcomers. Great clarifications and tips!

I'm excited for Linux Mint 22, can't wait to upgrade and get new packages! I'm waiting for it to leave beta though.

I've been checking the forums every few days and noticed the post about the stable ISOs dropping in the mirrors last night. I can't wait until the upgrade path goes live.

I have used multiple Linux Mint versions in the past. They are by far the best Linux OS out there!! I cant wait to start using this version. Going to dowload it now!!

I love Linux Mint. I started using it in 2006 (LM 2.1 Bea) and I still use it today. OG here.

I wish Mint focused on the Debian edition. I love it with the e-papirus icons and cinnamox-rhino dark theme.

I'm glad it is finally out. I was hoping for pop!_os alpha 24.04 will be out by now but nevermind. I will install mint 22 to have fun until alpha comes along. I was a huge distro hopper but i settled with pop!_os and mint :) what can i say, I'm a poli linux user 😅

"...Linux Mint 22 “Wilma”, which you can download right now from the multitude of official mirrors around the world. An official announcement will be published by the Linux Mint team when all download mirrors are synced with the main server." - I already downloaded it from Swedish mirror, it's well spreading around already.

I've been partitioning my hard drive with Linux the old traditional method of create Swap Area, root / and then /home partition for years. That way when upgrading always have my home partition with documents etc at the ready. Since UEFI have had to create an EFI or boot partition 1st of at least 105MB. I absolutely loath flatpacks especially when multiple are installed and for example multiple large proprietary drivers and Desktop Environments are then updated becoming Gigabytes of data and not favourable due to my part of the world where data is expensive. These flatpack updates also quickly chew up the usually small root / partition of generally 40GB I create. I noticed many youtubers just go with the default install which doesn't seem to create these traditional partition schemes, what's best for modern systems?

Started using Linux Mint full time back in 2015, and still loving it. Just put LMDE6 on a refurbished system today, and I like how it's not tied to Ubuntu.
