‘Gone with the Wind’ = One of the best Hollywood films ever made.

My most favorite line is “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

Classic Hollywood is fantastic. Thanks MsMojo for giving these films the highlight.

Solid list. I think I'd definitely add The Ten Commandments and/or Ben-Hur. Two all-time greats.

I would quibble on the order of the rankings but, on the whole, a superb list of must-see Hollywood Classics. Well done!

I do agree with your picks! There is no mistake why multiple James Stewart movies were in this list. One of the best actors of our time. Same goes for Alfred Hitchcock, my favorite film director and one of cinema’s best. I love Singin’ in the Rain! I always watch it when I feel depressed; it always cheers me up and puts a smile on my face. I’ve seen a few of these films on the big screen. A highlight was seeing Casablanca in an art deco theater. Thank you for including all types of genres in your list, too!

Classic movies are so unique in film history. The fact that they’re black and white adds a beauty and mystery that modern day movies can’t capture. They were full of so much drama and romance that movies today can’t even dream of capturing. The acting was perfection, the soundtracks were unforgettable, the costumes were beautiful….Gah! These movies were all so good and classy

It Happened One Night is an amazing movie. Neither Gable nor Colbert wanted to do the movie. The head of Gable's studio loaned him out and forced him to do it. Colbert was finishing her third straight movie and wanted a well-earned vacation. She was shocked when the studio met what was then an outrageous salary demand. When she read the script, she told her friends it was going to bomb. Yet, the movie basically created the Rom-Com genre. It swept the Big 5 at the Oscars, giving Gable his only statuette of his career. He did not win for the Big G. The hitchhiking scene created a trope that has been done again and again. My wife and I had the privilege of seeing a restored print right before Covid struck in a theater in our town. It was marvelous.

Great list- but I'd also add To Kill a Mockingbird.

All About Eve captured the world of theatre, earned 14 Oscar nominations (won 6, including Best Picture), and set the stage (pun intended) for similar-themed stories about competition, gaslighting, and payback.

I am thrilled to see Some Like It Hot, It Happened One Night, and Rebecca on this list. Regarding Rebecca, I think Joan Fontaine is very underrated as an actor. She doesn't get the fanfare of many of her contemporaries, but she is stellar in every movie I've ever seen her act in.

Decent list, but I would have included The Best Years of Our Lives, one of the first movies to deal with PTSD.

It's so satisfying to see the most iconic roles of the most iconic stars on here. Loved seeing the likes of James Dean, Bette Davis, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Vivien Leigh, etc. get their entries one after another. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
