Major building fire breaks out in Sydney

A seven-storey building in Surry Hills, Sydney, near Central Station, was engulfed in flames as parts of the wall collapsed inward and multiple fire crews battled to contain the blaze.

Wow that's wild. I wonder what the building was used for. And how come the fire was able to get out of hand before the fire dept were able to arrive. It looked like it was well underway when I finally heard the sirens approaching
