I've been testing this as my full-time eReader for a couple of weeks now and here's why I reckon it's one of the best options in 2024. Check out my other reviews for alternative options.

The Boox Go Color 7 is a dinky delight, with a lightweight design that slips into even a trouser pocket, just about! This mini eReader has physical buttons for page turning (although these refuse to play ball in the Kindle app). Battery life is excellent, offering hours and hours of reading on a single charge - you should make it through a week away even with heavy use.

For the Kindle app, set it to Volume up and down and it works as Page Turns. I learnt that from my Palma!

This looks pretty cool, I just wish it was a touch bigger, the screen size looks fine for books but for comics I like a larger display.

Not a review of the Boox, as such, but the company behind it. I didn't like it and returned it. Oh the shit they made me go through. Before I could return it, they made me email pictures of the reader and it's case. When they finally agreed to take it back, they kept stalling me on the refund. Finally I ended up filing a complaint with PayPal, and then and only then did I receive my refund. Stay away. Stay. Far. Away.

LOL! "..only had 5 whiskeys...". I love your sense of humour. I had a Boox years ago, but unfortunately it suddenly dies. I went back to my trusty Kobo, and eventually upgraded to the Kobo Aura One. the versatility of the open source Linux based Kobo OS makes it far more open and customizable than a Kindle. For example books of almost any format can easily be side loaded using just a computer file manager as well as Calibre.

Thanks for this review. Is there a way of telling which apps are supported before buying? For example it would be great to know before hand if I can download the Marvel Unlimited or DC Universe.

I think Onyx Boox should consider the pricing. Currently it is expensive for those who are interesting to buy it.

I heard another reviewer mentioning dead pixels with this kind of screen technology of the color screen and I thought he saw it after a couple of weeks. Did you experience anything like that?

I've been looking for a side tablet just for reading books and manga. The problem is almost all of them are either way too big and bulky or extremely cheap and low quality. Maybe something like this could work?

Today's e-ink looks like 1990's LCD.

They need to use iridescence in those e-ink pixels to make the colours more vibrant.
