Like you, I use my Pro 2 models but every so often I'll drain the batteries down and I turn to my Pro 1's and there is such a difference in the audio from the 1 to 2 as well as the 2 has so much better ANC. The 1's sound tinny to me when compared to the 2's, which sound so much richer.

I’m on pair number 2 (pair number 1 were defective and the Apple Store gave me new ones) and I love these things. Even more glad that the smaller eartips became a thing because they now stay in my ears as well as the AirPods 3 did.

Love my Pro 2 pods, but they would NOT stay in my ears. I ended up buying the foam bits to put on them, and that works for me. I still have to take them out once in a while to re-set the foam.
For the price, they should stay in your friggin ears...
I love the audio and the ANC. Both are quite good.
When I'm outside mowing the lawn or doing active things, I bring my Bose QCII buds. They stay put and do a bit better at ANC and I can't tell the difference in sound unless I play spatial, which isn't that much.
I also have a woodshop and the Bose buds are my go-to for that noise.

The AirPods that I have are the first that I’ve ever owned. So I’m getting pretty spoiled right off the bat. I have the AirPods Pro 2.

Since EarPod's and AirPod's have never stayed in my ears. They always fall out. I purchased and use UE Fits that are the first ear buds that stay in my ears without earhook add on.

Have used earhooks with my EarPod's and they work great. Would have purchased AirPod's if I could put them in the case to recharge them with a third party earhook on.

Nice recap. I disagree on a couple points:
1. I find sound quality better, particularly spatial audio. I find that whatever voodoo Apple put into the APP2s is the best work they've done (including AirPods Max)
2. I've had consistent issues with Find My. Whenever I need to use it, the case just seems to have disappeared. I feel like I need to regularly go the setup process to get them to show.

I actually received my 3rd-gen AirPods last year as a Christmas gift. I had thought about getting the 2nd-gen AirPods Pro but I’m not in a place where I would need ANC

I'm surprised the battery drain issues regarding the find my weren't brought up. find my drained my battery very noticeably when on standby. Once I turned it off, the battery life was MUCH better

Out of the box I could never pass the Ear Tip Fit Test. They just don’t fit, unless… I wear them upside down with the stems pointing up. And I’m not the only one in this predicament. Apparently, wearing them that way messes with both Noise Reduction and the microphone because it reverses the direction of the external mics. So I bought some $30 foam ear tips that actually fit in my ear and create a proper seal. Even still, I can’t safely touch the stems to change the volume because doing so may break the seal — less than perfect to be sure.

I have found using the 2nd Gen pros that the noise cancellation is terrible compared to the first ones I could be in a room blaring music with the first ones and not be affected by the noise whereas the 2nd pros I am still hearing the background noise as if it’s barely even utilizing it’s noice cancellation I will say that sound wise the music sounds more crisp on the 2nd but overall bang for your buck is the first ones if you care about cancelling out noise and being in your own lil bubble

I have the first pros and second pros one I carry everywhere and some at my desk.. I honestly can’t tell the difference the upgrade to me was pointless the only useful upgrade was the find my which I only used once..

I disagree.

Audio quality is 100% better than the first version, and the bass is much more balanced and refreshed. Transparency mode is where it kicks ass, when I use it, I forget that I have them in. However, due to an issue with the transparency mic, the transparency mode is muffled in my left AirPod.

Before that, they worked perfectly, and I’m surprised that they have lasted this long.

The case is also very very durable, and it made with a singular piece of plastic, almost like PVC.

Their personal audio customization makes it the biggest upgrade, as it edits the audio settings to best fit your hearing and audio preferences. It made my experience way better, and the Noise Cancelling mode is on par with my quietcomforts, and it’s probably the best pair of AirPods/earbuds I have ever used.

I’m currently buying another pair, since the muffled mic is annoying. (Kinda my fault, I dropped it in grease.)

I lost my 1st gen AirPods Pro a week ago from traveling. Really contemplating if I should go ahead and purchase the 2nd Gen AirPods Pro or possibly wait if a new pair will be announced this year.

My main driver for updating any divide has been battery life or dropping something in the toilet. I am addicted to transparency mode, so when my 1st gen AirPods Pro have fallen apart I'll get the gen 2 or whatever is next. The updated Beats are not looking so bad, so I will have a few choices.
