Other nations are catching up in the new arms race and have dedicated massive military budgets to developing hypersonic missiles! How can the US defend against such high impact and evasive missiles? Infographics should have done a more thorough research in regards to hypersonic missiles and watch covert cable’s channel in regards to this technology. Yes speed is great, but it definitely makes it less maneuverable, not the other way around. As its less maneuverable the trajectory is easier to predict, especially in the terminal phase. Speed cuts down reaction time and until we can get it to maneuver like subsonic weapons it’ll be a game changer. USA has had hypersonic missiles for awhile. Also usually when you hear and see generals say we are losing our technological edge, it’s cause they want more funding from congress. So don’t believe it to be true

Fundamental physics dictate that search radars must be large which means you can't fit a search radar on a missile. So in the scenario in the video the missiles are going to be have difficulty acquiring the targets by themselves in the first place. The hypersonic missiles are also still going to have low maneuverability.

We aren't 'losing' anything. We have multiple hypersonic programs in effect and some have already been tested and are due out within 1-2 years. The USA was the first to test hypersonics over a decade before all other countries and we stopped because it was pointless. Nobody else had them yet in the form that we are speaking of. ICBMs are hypersonic in later stages and so are a lot of direct launch missiles. However, the hypersonics that we are talking about...the USA did a lot of research, stopped and then when other nations started we restarted based on our old research and kept going.
