I got this radio as a loaner from Gigaparts, but I like it so much that I am going to keep it. It has some great features and the audio from the ASP technology is amazing. Let's take a look...

Just took delivery of my FTM-150; just getting back on the air after an absence of 15+ years! Radios have definately changed since my last mobile system!

Sometimes a basic radio is all we need. If I didn’t already have 4 dual band radios, I would definitely buy this. Great review!

Super helpful review. Yeah this is exactly what I’ve been looking for - dual band, dual VFO, remote head with mic jack on the head. Finally!
Oh and I have zero cares about C4FM or APRS. Don’t want to pay for that.
Simple and straightforward is right on time.

I just ordered this radio after watching your vid. It reminds me of my aging Yaesu 2600M, only way better. So yes, this radio IS for me. I'm not the least bit interested in digital or that other fancy schmancy stuff. I'm a phone kinda guy, even on HF.

I think you're the first of the "main" Youtubers that I follow to have a review of this radio. I've been looking for a mobile radio for a bit now, and was originally considering the the FTM-500 because of the front speaker and the mic jack in the head to help simplify the install. Original plan was to pick up the 500 on a Black Friday special. Then this radio came out... APRS would be nice for the vehicle, but so is the cost savings. =)

Great review, thank you!

I most definitely would like to see Win Link with this radio

I love the receive functions, it reminds me of the hidden Wideband receive of theVX-6R, that I love. I agree about adding 220.

I bought one from R&L while the video was running in the back ground. I saw John talk about this on CaHR last night. Going to use it for Packet Radio and some other digital modes.

That looks like a sweet rig. I’d totally keep it. I’d love to see 1.25m as well, and maybe 6m.

Yes, the radio looks good, and considering purchasing one. Treu, it doesn’t have C4FM, but it doesn’t cost the same as the others. I like the mike connector on the control head.

I bought 2 of these FTM-150Rasp units because I wanted a dual band unit for my truck and one for an Apache box go kit. So far I like it.

After years of Icom, my 706 died. I spent months looking for a replacement. I ran into a POTA and I was immediately drawn to the radio. I left and went to Giga Parts and walked out with a FT-891. I'm sold on Yaesu. I absolutely love that radio. I guess I'll be making another trip in to Huntsville. This is perfect for my underground storm bunker.

I am planning on setting up a digirig with my FTM-150 so I would love to see some WinLink+VARA FM action in a futrure video!

With the fact that I have other decent dual band radios if it actually had transmit on 220 of decent watts, I would for sure purchase it

For the remote unit cable I built my own had some CAT6 cable, and wired terminated both ends as straight through. My cable is about 20 feet long and the remote works perfectly

This is the first radio that is making me consider replacing the $90 Radioddity DB20-UV in my car.
