I remember this as a Rod Stewart song. She does it justice 👍 I didn’t know until I looked it up that Cat Stevens wrote it in 1967; Rod did it in 1976, Sheryl 2003.

I first heard this song in 1967, The first version to be released was by PP Arnold which was a hit in the UK. Once a backing singer for Tina Tuner (the Ikettes) she relocated to Britain to escape racism. She recorded with a number of bands including on The Small Faces hit Little Tin Soldier

So funny! Just today I was shopping in the grocery store with my son and as we were leaving this song came on. I told my son how much I love this song, and how it was a Cat Stevens song, and so I showed him the original, then the Rod Stewart cover, then this one. Actually sometimes a song is just a song and there isn't a lot behind it being sung, Sheryl Crow included this song in her (Best of Sheryl Crow) album after she first really liked hearing the way Rod Stewart sang it. It was written and first sung by Cat Stevens.

I remember back in 2005 or 2006 i was in Austin Tx and ended up stopping at a club, and through a series of events ended up partying on the roof of the place with Lance Armstrong and his then GF Sheryl Crow. It literally was them and me and my GF at the time. Was an insane nite that ill never forget. Sheryl would sing to every song that played and she legit killed it every time. SO talented
