"Good tea is the tea that you like" – it's a phrase we hear often but, as tea vendors trying to figure out what teas make it into our range, it's not super helpful. Instead, here are 3 key characteristics that we look for when deciding whether or not what we're drinking is in fact good tea.

One thing to keep in mind is the difference in what people mean by "good tea." A tea can be technically perfect in every way, but if I don't enjoy it, it's not good tea. I mean, I don't like green tea, so to me, the most expensive and perfect Longjing in the world is not good tea. And before I forget, great video! We need more!

Informative video. Thank you! I've noticed brewing properly is a huge part of being able to determine if it's a good tea. I almost discarded a bag of tieguanyin because I had my kettle very high and was using too little tea to water. Once I learned the proper way it was really wonderful.

Love this... I have just scheduled posts for East Forged this week around this same topic! - I think for hot teas, texture, aroma and aftertaste are super important. I consider the visual is super important as well. You drink with your eyes. Also why the industry likes glass fairness pitcher and white/light coloured tea cups. Tea cups with a very light blue hue are favoured for Taiwanese lightly oxidised oolongs. Miss you guys! Let's hope the borders open up next year!
