Neon - Tutorial 2 - Slicing and Stretching.

Показать описание
This tutorial covers the new slicing features introduced in version 1.04. This is a preview of the new features, so If you don't see these options in your version of Neon, an update will be on its way very soon.

We demonstrate the various methods of slicing samples and how to effectively use the stretch feature to make a sample fit a given tempo.

Phenomenal. This is so many things I’ve been looking for. Very happy. Buying now. Thank you.

Would be nice to have a ‘join’ button as well, at least if ‘delete’ doesn’t do it already

Who’s a clever boy Paul. Now how about a template in Helium for triggering the slices. Although I could make my own. This gets better with every update. Will have a play when I get back from my mother in laws. Bravo Well done.

What I’m really looking for is an editor that will enable me to quickly put together a drum track from Loops. If that could be made so that you could just simply drag and drop new clips from the audio pool that would be so much more usable for me. Then editing would be a snap and I could just drag and drop things that I listen to and fit them in the measures.

Cool app! I just downloaded it. It would be cool if one could time stretch the whole sample (drag the end of the sample to a certain bar mark and compress the sample). All the best, Alex

is it possible to play different samples on each instance? automating a sample change on instance is only by changing a preset?

Yes needed that stretch mode and intelligent transient detection... Awesome!!! Thanks a lot.
One question though - Is there any limitation on sample time length for intelligent transient detection to work?

Hi. This looks fantastic! I've just got a new ipad mini instead of the blackbox thinking that there should be a way to replicate the functionality, and here it is! Can i suggest one addition that would make it even closer? On the blackbox there's a number of launch modes specifically designed for slicer, such as forward, backward, random and stagger. What they do is every time the sampler receives ANY note trigger it advances one slice forward, backward, chooses random slice or 'staggers'(kind of random but keeping the directing for some time). The benefit of this is, if i for example have 64 slices and want to play them one after another i don't have to enter 64 different notes in the sequencer, or program an lfo which controls slice number or whatever. I think this is brilliant solution and should be a standard in any piece of gear which works with sliced samples actually. Since Neon is under active development i hope it would be possible to add such a modes. Please let me know if i can be of any assistance with testing or anything else. Again, great product!

In AUM with a loop loaded in Neon and warp mode set, I can loop bars (3-5 for example). If I change the host tempo in AUM I still have bars 3-5 looped in audio but the markers at the top don't move with the changed waveform so it indicates I'm looping something else. When in warp mode the bar markers should move with the audio, or alternatively in warp mode the audio and bar markers don't need to move at all when changing tempo in AUM because its still x bars regardless of host tempo. When in warp mode if I select a two bar loop using the grid, it should loop two bars of audio regardless of host tempo because it is warped... unless I'm missing something?

Incredible update!
How can change tempo as shown in the video at 9.05.
The value is locked for me when using it in AUM.
Do you believe it’ll be possible in a future update to generate a midifile from the sliced sample?
Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the latest update Paul, lots in there to digest. Stretching will be very useful for correcting playing mistakes. One-shot triggering is also *very* welcome as a launch option. *EDIT* This is fixed in 1.05 -> The AU MIDI control play/rec triggering still requires an extra command when the playhead reaches the end of the recording to retrigger the play/rec action which makes it difficult to reliably automate. Is that just the way it is designed? Cheers.
