Personally, I just enjoy jazz music in general whether it helped me in my classical music or not. I'v always been into clean guitar sounds unlike the distortion pedals and rock-and-roll sounds that made the guitar sound like a different instrument. Jazz, especially with its improv. expanded my knowledge of what it means to be a free musician, and create anything that what I feel. Jazz, at the end of the day with the theory and chords learned, makes someone so sufficient in expressing their mood without following in someone's music. A person who basically learned jazz can express themselves in their own unique way.

I think that's way more important to listen to and learn from as many music as possible to become a better musician. Jazz isn't the genre that teaches everything you need as a musician and if you might suggest a genre to start with on any instrument i'll say Blues is the answer.

Isn't "beginner-level master class" an oxymoron?
