Chef Saltbaker Vs. The Devil Final Boss Comparison - Cuphead DLC. In this video, we'll be comparing the final boss from the base game of Cuphead to the DLC final boss. Both of these were played on Expert mode with no damage taken. Which one do you think is tougher to beat?

The chef looks more creepy than the Devil himself. And the musical accompaniment of the chef makes you creepy. The devil is more infuriating than frightening.

To compare, I believe Saltbaker is more terrifying bc look at the eyes, he's literally killing his ingredients alive. The Devil on the other hand is terrifying because his final quote on the death screen doesn't have puns and rhymes. He's just someone you shouldn't mess with.

You can literally see the improvement of animation, I'm really glad that they do take time to finish this DLC.
Carefully sculpting it to perfection, while also improving the looks of each bosses, along with animation.

The devil is the devil himself... But Chef Saltbaker is way more terrifying. Sure the devil can shapeshift and morph, but chef Saltbaker kills in his boss fight. The limes scramble, the sugar is sad, and the strawberry/apple box crys after getting all his contents squeezed from him. Not to mention how insane chef Saltbaker looks compared to the devil.

The chef is legit murdering live ingredients with the most smooth animation in the game. And the final phase with the faces spiraling down gives is just creepy and well drawn

The two final bosses I think represent different things animation history wise. The Devil here represents how everything in cartoons was accused of devilry like the old Betty Boop cartoons for having blues music, they never stopped screeching about that back in the day. The game even has shades of the Prohibition-era moral propaganda scares, where these accusations most happened by moral busybodies, by playing up booze and gambling. Saltbaker on the other hand represents the type of villain that a cartoon would accidentally create once in a while that was so scary parents would complain it gave their kids nightmares. Both of these types of villains were considered antagonists where their antagonism was SO effective it'd leak out into real life in some degree.

Chef salt baker reminds me of a Disney villan who gives children nightmares but would probably have like a killer villan song.

The Devil boss has more demonic imagery and sticks to the 1930s animation style that the rest of the game has. Regardless of difficulty differences, some boss fights in Cuphead are shorter than others. The Saltbaker boss has more creepy imagery and has some 1940s animation style in it.

Chef Saltbaker just feels like hes genuinely trying to murder you and killing his ingredients alive he seems like a psychopath, while the devil starts out easy like hes toying with you but gets more angry and frustrated as you go along

When the trailer for the Cuphead DLC came out and revealed the Chef Saltbaker I thought, "He doesn't look iconic as The Devil.". But when I saw him as the final boss, we was now better than the devil to me. His changed demanor mix with those crazed eyes, actually made him look scary. As well as his shattered remains in 2:00, that belongs in a old disney movie.

chef saltbaker: a chef maniac who makes cookies out of a living soul then attempts to kill you by murdering various living ingredients like tomatos, lettuce, sugar cubes, dough, etc. then grabs you high up which could lead you to dying from a tall height if you trip, and uses pepper to sneeze on you with a possible infection then turns into a salt ghost and haunts you then dies.

devil: simply evil and needs contracts and grows mega big and cries like a baby then dies.

Amazing how they made a salt shaker more terrifying than the devil…

*THE DEVIL HIMSELF!!*

am I the only one that finds the chef's body just broken on the ground and lifeless disturbing?

The animation on Saltbaker is the best in any video game ever.

Both is equally terrifying, here’s my comparison:
Devil: This guy is terrifying cause, well, he’s literally the Devil. His game over screen gives you a clear imagery of how twisted he can really be, his supernatural powers of being able to do anything is very creepy and uncomfortable sometimes. His quote being the most eerie part about him.
Saltbaker: This guy is humorous, but he takes that humor into a level of creepiness, he also slaughters or terrifies objects and food while also having a somewhat disturbing final phase, you could even see his blank body in the background that just stares into your soul. Very creepy.

0:57 That timing with the chef saltbaker's laugh and the beginning of the ost of the second phase of the devil, a perfect diamond

Okay, but it sounds pretty decent when both Saltbaker and the Devil’s tracks just play in tandem with each other

You can tell they've gotten better at this type of animation. The quality for each boss in the DLC is a step up from the base game, which says a lot considering how perfect it was in the base game already.

I find it weird how much more human movement there is to Chef Saltbaker. He doesnt stretch and bend that much unlike any other boss in the game

I think that the devil is more "fleischer" style, while the chief look more like an antagonistic from a Disney's golden age films (To me, he look like he came from Pinocchio).
That the reason why He look more scary
