"Terminators are designed to possess speed and strength far beyond an ordinary human."

So was Robert Patrick. He chased Edward Furlong down on that dirtbike several times while filming. He actually had to run slower so as to _not_ catch him. That dude was fast.

You are dead unless you can freeze him, shoot him and throw the shattered remains into molten steel

Shattering the T-1000 after freezing would increase its surface area, not decrease it. The result is correct however. The increased surface area would speed up the heat transfer and thus the melting process.

I wouldn't survive a washing machine with chatGPT running on it. It would swallow me whole and spit me out in a pocket dimension where all the universe's socks disappeared into.

No. The answer is no. Let's not pretend defeating him is even possible. You'll be dead before you even know he's after you.

I keep joking to friends that I don't want to end up running from a terminator in my old age. With all these Teslabot and Boston dynamics projects in the work lately, I might not get my wish.

Thermite would probably be useful.
7:08 In the commentary to the Special Edition, James Cameron mentions that it's 10-gauge, so it might actually be a model 1901.
8:00 Chiappa makes a repro.
8:23 Roughly comparable recoil.
10:08 Not literally "liquid" metal. More like "polymerized."
11:35 In the Special Edition, we see that it starts to malfunction after that.
12:55 See also 'The Blob' (1988).
13:48 What about thermite? Hand grenades, 40-mils, anything.

All we need is the T800 and Guns and Roses to save the day.

Who wants the i survived series to come back

Shattering the frozen T-1000 caused it to have a permanant glitch that made him shapeshift involuntary to anything it touched. It made it easier to find. When it took Sarah's appearance, his feet had the same texture than the factory's floor.

It would be interesting to see T1000 vs T-X

2029 isn't far off. There are going to be some big improvements in AI and robotics in the coming years.

Finally, something useful. I’ve wondered about this since I was a little boy.

T2 came out in ‘91. It would have taken about 10 seconds to look that up.

I'd use neodymium and magnesium. Homemade "spicy pipe surprises" with ferromagnetic shrapnel, fired out of a potato gun of correct width would work. You'd need a direct hit. Ideally the shrapnel will attract parts of the T1000 to itself in the explosion, increasing the amount of time it takes to rebuild itself, and increasing its surface area. Then, a series of double-barrel shotties loaded with dragonbreath shells. Magnesium burns between 3, 000 and 4, 000 degrees, which should be more than hot enough to destroy any parts of the machine caught in the blast.

The hard part would be employing each in such a way that didn't get you killed by either the T1000 or your own weapons. We're much squishier than it would be. Clever use of traps and such would be crucial to survival in such a scenario

11:55 Shattering gives more overall surface area, not less, that is how something can change temperature faster in that state.

The Winchester in and of its self doesn't have extra stopping power. It's the caliber of the shell, and whether it's a slug, buckshot, or bird shot. It is a pretty gun though.

Drop it in the middle of the ocean. I bet it can’t swim. And it’s too heavy to stay afloat. So it would keep sinking and get crushed at the proper depth.
