Mayor details plan to diversify elite NYC schools

Critics have long complained that the reliance on a single admissions test leads to a lack of diversity at the schools, which are overwhelmingly Asian and white. About 10 percent of the students at the eight school are black or Hispanic, although black and Hispanic students make up two-thirds of the city`s public school population overall.

Everyone gets to take the same exact admissions test!!!! Admissions should based on the content of their brain not the COLOR OF THEIR SKIN!!!!

Pretty simple to see that the Asian kids are just smarter overall, everybody knows that, you don't hear the Asian kids yelling about racism because they couldn't make the varsity basketball team in other schools across the country.

This is not a merit based selection system.  It is a mixed selection system and it is covertly racist.

Hear me out.

Each school only has a finite number of seats.  By eliminating students from the running by ranking them by their school preference you enroll lower scoring students and exclude higher scoring students.

Lets say there are two schools left out of four and there are three students.

School 1 full
School 2 full
School 3 one seat
School 4 one seat

Student A has a score of 750
School preference
1, 2, 3, 4

Student B has a score of 700
School preference
3, 4, 2, 1

Student C has a score of 650
School preference
4, 3, 2, 1

Even though student A has the highest score out of the three students the other two students each have a first choice advantage and will get into a school but student A - the highest scoring student - will not get into a school.

What if the highest scoring student happens to be Asian, the next white and the next black?

If the system were truely merit based the black - lowest scoring student - wouldnt get into a school.

The way the process should work is that all of the students should be ranked by their score and then assigned to a school based upon their preference.

If a students first choice school fills up before they get in then that student should get their second choice school, not loose it to a lower scoring student based upon that students school preferences.

This is an attempt to change the demographics of those schools.  It is a highly covert form of racism due to the fact that Asian students overwhelmingly score higher than other races on the test and by using school preference to bump a high scoring Asian student out of the running, you allow a lower scoring student into the running and here is the covert racism - that student may not be Asian.

WAKE UP SMART KIDS!  YOU ARE BEING PLAYED.

It gets even worse.

If one of the four schools isnt as popular as the other three - perhaps its the furthest away - then it may be a second, third, fourth choice for most students which would allow really low scoring students to make it their first choice and nearly guarantee that they will get in.

Imagine one elite school that is comprised of nearly all low scoring students while hundreds of students that scored well above them dont get into any of the schools simply due to their school preferences.

Criminal!

If you are smart go to the elite schools simple . Would you want a airline pilot or docter who got that job because of their ethic background?

Dear Daddy🤪
Thanks for having your bodyguards help me move into my dorm at Yale, I found the elitism and sense of entitlement at Yale are simply unjust! I am now focusing on protesting at Yale. This will help me build my progressive resume for a future in politics. Hope to run into Malia O. at the Harvard and Yale games.
Peace,
Dante
