Hey thanks for the video man, I was able to find it. I'm flabbergasted that I had to google how to do this. I'm nearly 40 years old and I've been tinkering with computers since I was 10. I don't know what the heck happened in the past decade or so but everything has gotten so counterintuitive and confounding. I found the folder for BG3, even after I found it, I searched for it in the windows search bar and it still couldn't find anything. While I was literally staring at it. I just can't with this anymore, it's so frustrating. Thanks again for bringing me some relief from this nonsense.

Just FYI, you can change the description file location to:
%LOCALAPPDATA%/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate
The %LOCALAPPDATA% wildcard automatically knows where to go!

Is it possible that they get located somewhere else after one of the patches? I wanted to use cheatengine to give myself the owlbear egg after I accidentally fed it to the owlbear cubs a long time ago. But in case of a problem I wanted to copy the savefile to another drive. When I went to the folder it only has 32 save files spread between manual, auto and quick saves from hour 1 to hour 9. I'm now on hour 76. I mean on the one hand it's a good thing because I save all the time. And my C drive isn't that big so if the C drive would limit itself to only 32 saves I wouldn't mind so long as it was the last 32 saves.

But I don't understand, where are all the rest of my save files that I have in game between hour 9 and 76? They have to be located somewhere. How else would I be able to play this far into act 2?

I cannot seem to click on “show hidden items” button, so I went to %appdata% manually and that didn’t show a Larian Studios folder… is it possible that the files are elsewhere?

hey there, you might be able to help me. context, i was playing honor mode, about 53 hours in. almost finished with act 1. was on my way to the grymforge. i died....so i quit out of the game to go blow off some rage. when i went to reload the game, it put me back to the very beggining righ where the nautaloid crashes and you wake up on the beach. i tried everything man, i went into the local storage on my p.c. and the only data there was my character on the beach...and nothing else. can you help restore my data?

Unfortunately for me, all my game save were deleted when updating to patch Aug 5th 2023. that is over 80 hours into the game deleted. Ah well, new character incoming...
