I have a KitchenAid dishwasher. On the filter piece that comes out of the screening unit, does that come apart? It's definitely 2 pieces but not sure if they can be separated.

The vent won’t seed regardless of which way I tried to lock into place. Opens and tilts, blocking arm. I just took it out !!! I knew better than to get Kitchenaid.

Thanks! My dishwasher is only a few months old and it was clogged up. I also ran a cup of white vinegar on a empty cycle to get any mineral buildup out of the washer!

NEVER buy a dishwasher that doesn’t have a built in food grinder. They may still be hard to find these days, but you shouldn’t have to put up with stupid filters. I hope they are brining them back to be more common because 5 years ago I could only find 2 brands that made them with the grinder. Very frustrating! My original dishwasher that had a food grinder lasted 20+ years. When I ordered my new one 5 years ago I was told by the sales rep that people complained about how loud they were so they made them quieter and took out the grinder. And now those who want a quality machine with a food grinder are limited on brand choices OR forced to buy a piece of crap that doesn’t wash your dishes because you have to rinse them before washing them.🙄

It’s probably the same type of people who complain that their coffee grinder is too loud.
