How to fix a Flexi leash without screws. All other videos say there are screws on the side, but mine doesn't have any. I hope this helps everyone else with a broken Flexi leash. If you need any more help, feel free to comment!

Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Brilliant fix. Just a couple of tips from my experience. Avoid removing the large wheel - it will detach the main spring! But if you do this by mistake you can re-attach it - just make sure the end of the spring fits down the centre of the spindle. Rewind the wheel anticlockwise - against the pressure of the spring - without winding the tape/cord of the lead onto the spool - as many turns as you can. Then slowly release the tension of the spool to wind on the lead - avoiding twists in the tape.

You just saved my day. In fact, I thought the spring was damaged but right after loosening the case a bit it just started to work again.

I went a dog beach, took the big 28 feet leach, lots a sand got inside the trigger mechanism stopped working the wheel was fine, but I was worried had to but a new one, thanks for the video tip, it help me a lot and saved me on not muting a new, all I did was unwind the string water cleaned it, and put it back together with adding a bit of skirt of WD-40 on the parts that had grease and parts like the spring mechanism was .

This helped a ton. I was confounded by the lack of screws on mine. Your video gave me the confidence to just pry it open, carefully. My wife sewed the leash back together on her sewing machine. My only issue remaining is that when I put it back together, I did not have enough tension. I will take it apart again and try to get that right, but even with less tension, it still works and is better than buying a new leash. Already took our puppy out for a walk with it. Just need to make sure he does not bite through it again!

Thank you, my lead had jammed, was able to prise it partly apart without dislodging the spring and untangle the knot. Much appreciated!

Great video, thank you. This morning our dog succeeded in gnawing through the leash about 0.2m from the end, and my reactions were far too slow to prevent the super-efficient spring mechanism from rewinding the remaining 4.8m (including the chewed-off end) safely inside the handle. One suggestion, which I only discovered after making a fair amount of cosmetic damage to the plastic casing, is that there's a slot below the handle that's just wide enough to take the prongs of a claw hammer: using the hammer head as a lever made the dismantling process even easier.

Thank you I dropped mine by mistake and the retractable stopped working, you have saved me the cost of a new lead and have fixed mine x

Fixed!!! A little tricky reattaching the spring to the middle. Saved 18 dollars buying a new one although its a little shorter now lol! Next time put a knot so it doesn't eat the rope.

Really helpful video. My dog chewed the line. I'm gonna try this. 🙏🏻Thank you for posting this.

Use a steel ruler as a pry to open the case. It can be opened without any damage. A screwdriver works, but it will likely cause damage to the casing.

Really helpful - this short video just saved me the cost of a new lead; all it needed was a good clean out and a bit more lubrication. Thank you!!

I've been mulling over how to make a good dual flexi leash. My idea was to split two open and 3D print a spacer that will fit between the two halves, with their handles cut down. The spacer would have the handle, and once I get that far I'll have to come up with a a new way to work the triggers. Anyway, I started disassembling like this, but didn't want to total the main leash I use for walks, so thanks for the great video! Now I know how to disassemble and what to expect. This project of mine seems more plausible now :)

Thank you very much for the content, it saved me from buying a new leash. I'll do some improvements at the end of it, asking a shoemaker to sew an extra stripe of kevlar over the leash, just to avoid dogs screw it again.

Thanks for the video, I thought that may be the way to get it apart but it was good to see it done. Our had not broken or chewed it had just gotten stuck and would net extend past about 6 feet. Once disassembled I found the lead had gotten stuck under the knot that sacred the lead to the retractable wheel.

I was able to use a thin slotted driver and a needle nose pliers to pull the (ribbon) cord out. no need to disassemble ...
