please always research an animal before buying it to ensure you give it the best care possible! bowls do not make suitable homes for bettas.

A few people in the comments seem to be upset(?) because they think I copied solid golds video which she has Apparently done a few years back.

I would like to say - I’ve never seen Jennie’s video. I never knew she made one, I don’t know what it’s like. (Now that’s no hate to her, I enjoy her videos, but I haven’t really seen any more than a year old) I was inspired to make this video, after seeing someone I follow post on their story of a betta fish in a bowl. THATS what inspired me to make this, not Jennie’s video.

I very strongly believe that if you’re inspired to do something from someone else - to give them credit. I have done videos in the past that have been inspired by others, and I ALWAYS give them full credit for it. If this video was inspired by Jennie, I would have given her full credit.

Please understand that there are MILLIONS of videos on the internet. Some of them are going to be similar. Making videos about betta bowls being bad, is nothing new. There’s tons of videos out there on this topic.

Now even though I addressed that I did not copy this video, and I came up with the idea on my own, I would like to address something.

Recreating videos is nothing new. People recreate videos ALL the time. So many youtubers do the same videos as other people, but in their own way. As long as credit is given to the person who inspired the video, I see absolutely nothing wrong with recreating/making your own version of a video.

The point of this video was to educate people on proper betta care, and yet some people are more focused on the fact that my video is somewhat similar to a video done by someone else years back.

Yep bettas live in puddles so we should give them *no space* whatsoever to swim around.

This video was GREAT!!! People need to do their research, thank you for spreading awareness Emma!

My Betta lives in a 18.5-gallon tank with a whole jungle of plants. He was raised in a small plastic box (not by me) and from the first moment on, I ´ve put him into his new tank, I could tell, that he absolutely loves the space he has to swim around and explore his surrounding. A lot of people have told me that it would be animal abuse, if he gets a tank of this size, because it would be far too big for him and he would live in permanent distress, because his territory would be far too big for him, to keep it under permanent surveillance. But my impression is, that he´s pretty relaxed and he absolutely enjoys this tank. The only situation I could tell that he´s in distress, is when the curtain I´ve fixed on the left wall of his tank accidentially falls down and he can see my Guppys swimming around in the tank next to him. But after fixing the curtain again, he clearly relaxes. So I just wanted to share my expirience and encourage you, guys, to go for bigger tanks for your bettas, too. That beautiful fish are much more worthy than spending their life in a one-gallon tank.

The shade and sarcasm in this video is R E A L. I was dying the whole time. 😂😂 LOVE the video!
On a serious note though, if you want a pet such as a betta, it's your reponsibilitiy as a pet owner to provide the best care possible for your animal(s). They didn't ask to be in captivity. If you're too shitty of a person to buy all of the proper equipment and properly research and care for your animals, then you shouldn't own pets. Period.
I have two bettas (Mjolnir and Moe) in two separate ten gallon tanks. They have heaters, filtration, a varied diet and they both have Cory catfish as company as well (they are NOT aggressive with them, I monitor them.) They're seriously the happiest fish ever if they're properly cared for.

The bowl is too big. That size bowl is good for a megladon or 2 great white sharks

I knew bowls weren't right for bettas, but it still took me until the plants to realize you weren't serious in this video 😂

Oof this really puts it in perspective of why you DON’T PUT BETTA’S IN SMALL BOWLS/VASES

Thank you soooo much for this vid!! I previously had my betta in a 1.4 gallon tank, and is now in a three gallon. Way more active and happy now!!

That video was funny/ silly that I couldn't stop giggling at the filter heater plant and rock going into the small bowl 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
But on a more serious note it's much too crowded for a fish to be in and making your point come across was a good idea even though it was meant as a joke
(Poor Mr Soapy Bubbles he has to find a bigger bowl/tank to live in now cause the one he hoped to buy is too cramped 💦🐟)

The thing about this video is that yes it educates us to not put bettas in a small fish bowl. But people need to realize that there are huge fish bowls that come with filters and have plenty of room for a heating pad and live plants. I had a male veil tail betta that lived in his big fish bowl that's is MUCH larger then the one she was showing and he lived 5 years. I currently have a female that lives in it now and she is happy in her bowl. So just note guys that there are much bigger fish bowls out there that are 5 gallons or more.

Great job spreading the word! I work at a pet store and cannot tell you how many people are shocked bettas need at least 5 gallons of water and are great community fish.
