Nice, I found this book while exploring an abandoned house and now it sits in my bookshelf

I just love the fact my school librarian hand picked this book out of her own “special library” just for me to read for my senior project. I only graduated 4 years ago. She hunted me down after I almost didn’t return it and now I know why after all these years. 😂

Made me fall in love with books again and she is still my go to person for banned book and recommendations since i now coach sports at the school and see her around occasionally.

I have read every single Stephen King book, I hope she enjoys them.

I'm 60 years old, and I think back in my teens and early 20s, I bought every Stephen King book, including his Bachman books.

I might have that book stuffed into a box somewhere. Maybe when spring cleaning comes around, I'll see if I can find it. Maybe if I sell it, it will pay for all the other books I bought back then...lol

“Hey, kids! It's your old buddy Steve King telling you that if they ban a book in your school, haul your ass to the nearest bookstore or library ASAP and find out what they don't want you to read.” —Stephen King, January 18, 2023

Oh she’s gonna love that journey!!! I’m about 40% through so far and not a very fast reader but his books are so so good! Rage was an unpleasant mirroring of real but it was visceral, I hope she enjoyed it!

Theres a difference between taking a book out of print and banning it.

I own this book. I didn't realize how rare it was when I bought it.

I’m trying to read all of King’s published works in order too. Of course Rage is #4. An expensive hurdle.

I read this story as a teenager. I expressed all the frustration kids fell when trapped in their own hierarchy. But it didn't make me take up a gun. High school is just the beginning of our lives. As shown in the book, life moves own after every life changing event.

I had that book in hard back. Lost all my Bateman and Stephen King in a house fire. Still makes me sad

Does not being able to find it on Audible make it hard to come by? It just means there isn’t an audiobook. I agree this book is tougher to find but is that the metric we are using now?

“Not even available on Audible”
The irony of this video appearing on YouTube just above the four hour audio book video.

I bought someone a book too once. It was a Wrinkle in Time. His wife made him throw it out. It’s hard to explain why learning this hurt so badly.

Sounds like the guy who blamed his actions for killing John Lennon from reading the book “The Catcher in the Rye”.
Sociopaths are always trying to push their problems onto others.

King has been prophetic. Seriously. Most of his work is as easy to fall into today as they did 40 years ago.

I get it, and I'm someone whose read most of his work over and over. I wonder if I were born today if it's be somewhere on the spectrum. Not Many friends. Books come to feel like friends, which is why I walk the quest to The Dark Tower with Roland when I'm feeling overwhelmed by reality.

Or Terry Pratchett if I need a good old laugh.

I was allowed to read everything in the house, and started with Edgar Allen Poe. The only books I couldn't read were the Stephen King books in my mom's closet.

She fed me a steady diet of books, teaching reading, care of books, and how to get what you want for a quarter.

. . .😂 . . . I was reading Dickens by 4th grade. I felt ready for King. The pictures on the paper backs were scary because I wasn't allowed to read them.

I read The Long Walk which is responsible for many books and films, then as an adult I picked up Salem's Lot. That was 32 years ago.

And thank God the entire family writes. King, his wife, two sons. . . Joe Hill is a favorite. Start with his short stories if you love 👑.

That's crazy, I heard Anthony Burgess ran into the same problem after writing Clockwork Orange

i read rage, it wasnt honestly that life changing or spectacular as i thought it would be. it was wonderfully written as all of kings works are but definitely not a must read in my opinion.
