I wish the cowlings came off easily so I could look this all over every time I fly. As a renter, that’s hard to do- and I always worry about little things under the cowl that I can’t see that may lead to problems in flight. Good video!

I hope someone is still watching this... at 4:20, if you look at the right magneto and follow a line straight down from the round silver washer on the side to about an inch just below the black case, there is what looks like a tubing fitting with a black tube coming out the left end. What is that fitting and tube? Do you see it?

thanks so much for your videos and I especially like watching your flying instructional videos. You have a unique way of talking and explaining flying. for many years I've restored late 1960s and 1970 muscle cars, several to show standards.  I gotta say, I'm surprised to see the workmanship on an airplane engine. Zip ties cabled to Zip ties, different old used compression clamps on the dented intake runner tubes and rusty nuts on what appeared to be newer vacuum pump mount. I get the impression someone just used whatever was in the old coffee can of left over nuts and bolts.  I suppose it just has to work to pass muster. Thats the first aircraft engine I've ever seen, perhaps its not representative of many other. It was interesting to see under the hood,  much simpler than I imagined but I guess some of these were designed many years ago.  I wondered if I owned my own 150, if I could do some of my own work and have a FAA mechanic approve it. Thanks so much, I'm learning so much from your videos. Ted in Sebastian

Thank you superb explanation; even better than in mechanics school. Also like to ask what's the selenoid like attached to the battery box? TY
