Fun Fact: The soundtrack during Blackbox era of NFS was due to to they had a studio specially for choosing soundtrack, licensing and finding overall theme of music which would complement the game. Back then EA was willing to invest alot of money because they had bussiness sense.

we want some money" basically sums up all of EA

Remember when NFS soundtracks had variety? No matter what music genre is your favorite, there used to be something for everyone.

I still will never understand why EA just refuses to add any kind of rock music into the soundtrack

I always find myself adding music from 2005-2007 nfs to my playlists.

This song and the M3's engine whining is the best combo I've ever heard.

And don't forget, that it had metal like "Blinded in Chains", "Decadence", "Shapeshifter" and light music "Feed The Addiction", "Do Ya Thang" at the same time

When Decadence came on, I went from a 10 year old kid to a 10 years in the pro race career driver. 6 years later, I discovered Disturbed through a Dota2 edit, song was "Warrior" by Disturbed. I thought that was the first song I have ever heard from Disturbed and what got me to love the band. Now, I see that seed of Disturbed has been planted into my mind before I could even speak English (English isn't my native language).

The thing is, Most Wanted had a diverse soundtrack of Rap, Rock, Metal, Drum and Bass, etc.

Unbound lacks any real diversity with its Rap and Trap focused soundtrack, especially compared to 2015 which was just as diverse as Most Wanted...

*Edit People seem to be misinterpreting what I meant.

Yeah Most Wanted had metal which was cool in 2005, but it had *Genre Diversity* . There was something for every taste and even modern listeners can find something. Most Wanted was actually mostly Rap focused in it's soundtrack (only 4 songs were metal, only beating dnb by one song) but they were played at appropriate times like in the garage.

Cultural diversity isnt bad, but it's like having classical composers from all over the world play classical music on one stage. It's all gonna be *classical* . It doesn't matter if the mood of the game is designed around this genre, that type diversity is lost in translation (or lack thereof). People only defend it because it's their favorite genre (nobody defends classical), but there should be balance because not every kid likes Rap. Even Forza knows that...

It hurts a majority of the player base to focus on one divisive genre so intently, and using Cultural Diversity to make up for lack of varying selection. Which is also why Forza Horizon still outperforms in playbase and diversity of players.

*Accessibility*

Even if it's set in Mexico this time, Hospital Records keeps playing it's DNB. Scotty keeps those varied EDM hits, etc. All this while still having music appropriate for Mexico as well as Mexican music.

NFS shot itself in the foot by trying too "inclusive" by adding other cultures as a priority (and majority of songs) to a fictional version of an American city, but simultaneously not inclusive by ignoring American kids who don't like rap (they exist, I'm one), and their old fans.

Beyond your music taste, you have to admit that when you are driving at 200 mph, rock/metal fits a lot better than rap/trap

I love the Rider on the Storm ft. Snoop Dogg Fredwreck Remix, cuz when it's on, the vibe turns so chill that I still find myself still at the starting line

It's such a heavenly feeling to just full throttle, while tracks like skinny man is on + the sfx of the car.

For me, no other racing game has managed to pull this off.

a mix of rap rock and edm eurobeat would be perfect. Midnight Club LA had the perfect music mix in a racing game
