if the sun is the largest and most dense body in our solar system, with the most gravity... why dont all the asteroids hit it instead of the planets? what would happen if a planet crashed directly into the sun at high speed?

How am I supposed to fall asleep to something that has so much ANNOYING, aggravating background noise that is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard? I couldn't get past the first minute.
