Parents in 2007: "don't believe everything you read on the computer!"
Those same parents now: "someone on the internet told me Biden is a cyborg from Mars, so I'm gonna go yell slurs at children"

I'll never get over how the right wing nuts heard Taylor tell her fans "Vote for the people who best represent you" and immediately assumed she was saying 'dont vote for Trump'.
Like, way to admit your politician doesn't represent a huge amount of Americans.

I'd like to note that at the time that "1960s ladies" picture was taking, older generations would have been horrified and disgusted by their short skirts and would have sl*t shamed them for being out in public in such disgraceful attire.

"your outfit is sinful" = "i dont appreciate being aroused in public and cant handle my misogyny"

One of my coworkers is a boomer and is big into conspiracy theories and said "if the moon landing was real, why haven't we been back?"

"Because it's haunted, " I said without skipping a beat. My manager nodded in agreement, "oh it's SO haunted"

Boomer had no response and jyst dropped the subject. Refuting boomers with complete nonsense is A+ strategy

Speech-Language Pathologist here. PLEASE talk to your babies! It is so good for their language development!

28:44 - "No one is expecting a participation trophy, wherever that stereotype comes from to begin with" - It comes from the mid-90s when Millennials were children and every single competition we had gave participation trophies to everyone on both teams. These were run by Baby Boomer parents, which is why they remember it.

What is said: "I don't work here!"
What is understood: "I am employed at this place, yet I am lazy and refuse to do my work, so go ahead and try make me."

I think older generations just confuse “millennial” with “early 20s” because even the youngest millenials are almost 30.

Convincing boomers that "sinful" is the new slang so it confuses them is brilliant. Especially if they now think they can't say it anymore, and start telling and convincing their friends that they can't use it.
Like absolutely brilliant.

i work in a plant nursery and this one old dude comes in on mother's day with his kids to get his wife some flowers. Dude asks for flowers for his wife and I ask "Well, what kind of flowers does she like? I'm sure we'll have them somewhere." He looked me dead in the eyes and said "I dunno, just get me flowers she'd like."

I then asked "Well, how much sun does your garden get? Full sun? Shade? What colors does she like?" He just says again "Just get me flowers she likes."

I gave him a pot of petunias and he asked "Does she like this?" I just said yes and sent him on his way. Like yes sir, I have a psychic connection with the woman you loved enough to marry and know her exact tastes

That old British lady was a delight. It’s a much needed glass of metaphorical cold water. A reminder that not all old people are batshit insane.

The marine is dead wrong about being "every daughter's wet dream, " but he was right about being all of our living nightmares.

35:26 Apparently Taylor Swift wasn't happy about the boy's bl00d so she wrote the song "Bad Blood"...

17:26 My parents are literal boomers, and my Grandma thinks babies are basically vegetables that cry until they start moving on their own. This is the thinking from before ALL modern research on infant development which showed the importance of emotional connection and mental stimulation from birth. This might also explain boomers seeming a bit emotionally stunted IMO.

The kid shouldn't have broken the ukulele yes but what even does punching this child achieve??? It doesn't teach the kid a lesson it's just abuse. But then I guess this teacher had already gone off the deep end. Also as an autistic person myself, if someone has screamed at me good morning after I didn't reply I would immediately be overwhelmed/scared and less likely to respond.

Isn't talking to babies like you would to slightly older children- simple but sensible vocabulary, asking them questions- actually good for their cognitive and social development? Like, way better than babbling at them?

I will never understand the "what do you want? A participation trophy!" argument. Like the BOOMERS were the ones giving them to US! That shit was THEIR idea!

There are two examples of participation trophies I endorse:

One is for young kids to feel included, to encourage them to keep playing even if they lose.

The other is in high level competition, where even qualifying is considered an impressive feat, like the Olympics. Even if someone doesn't place on the podium, they still competed in the goddamn Olympics!
