Weird World Cup connections in this game. A 0-0 first period. Goals by Claude Giroux and Olivier Giroud. (almost at the same time of day!) And two references of the World Cup by the TSN announcer Dean Brown with a "cheeky goal" call by Batherson and an "own goal" call with DeBrincat!

Hey guys just wanted to point out that ottawa didn't get it's 11th win of the season until half way through January last season. So while this season has been a disappointment so far it has been an improvement over last year's team...

Weird how we win when guys like Batherson and Debrincat score.
Those two and their goal scoring struggles have cost us at least 4 points and likely 6. Then you compound that with the bottom 6 being the worst bottom 6 in the league for goal production and that's the sole reason we are so far out right now.
