You always need one more guitar. Regardless of how many you own.

When you’re limited to 5 riffs.
Every guitar sounds different.
You switch out on a regular basis

Maybe a starter/travel guitar, a regular use guitar, and a wishlist guitar. Bluegrass and jazz all the way! A small, medium, and large!

I don't need more than one guitar but....a parlor guitar for quiet sofa playing, a 000 -18 for some bluesy stuff, D28MD because ❤ and a CEO 9 Mango because it's gorgeous 😍

Perhaps a mahogany and Adirondack guitar for bluegrass. I have the guitar but not the music.
I play about 6 different guitars regularly. All different sizes, scale length, nut width and brands (sort of). I have cedar over rosewood and Sitka over rosewood. Two all mahogany and two Adirondack over mahogany. (OK, I have others too)
I have no maple, I have no resonator, my 12 string is over 50 and crap but
Yes yes I play different songs on them

You need all kinds of guitars to really hear their tonal differences. Playing at the store for a few minutes is not going to cut it.
