HTTP vs HTML: Unveiling Network Protocols using Telnet

preview_player
Показать описание
At the surface, this video is about HTTP, HTML, and Telnet. But beneath that this video is actually a demonstration of how every Network Protocol works. A Connection is made via TCP or UDP, a request is sent, a response is received. We demonstration this with HTTP / HTML / Telnet, but this same sequence occurs with nearly all other protocols as well.

In this demonstration, we show you exactly what your web browser does: It initiates an HTTP request in order to download an HTML page, and then it renders it in a way that is more visually appealing.

-----
0:00 - Intro
0:31 - The greatest webpage ever created
1:20 - The HTML code behind this masterpiece
1:56 - HTML - Hyper Text Markup Language
3:00 - HTTP - Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
3:30 - HTTP Request with Telnet
4:50 - Web Browsers and what they really do
5:38 - Telnet uses ASCII
6:04 - Fin / Outro
6:12 - Networking: The Internet, The Cloud, and Everything in Between

Yes! Finally learnt how webpages do the magic. Btw I am not a network engineer. But it is valuable to know these things. It helps to connect the dots.
I love the way pace your words. You would be a good lecturer in top universities.
Thank you!

Very well. So the HTTP request consists of basically two steps 1. Make socket connection 2.Send appropriate HTTP protocol string and receive response ?
