I mean, its true, but back in the days, a lot of time ago, before Italy was united in the 18 and 19 th Century, they were talking in their language. Everyone in Italy had their language, and its called dialect. So they speaked dialect, not the official Italian. The italian language came after the Unification of Italy because it was a kingdom with several regions, and so after the unification and also when it came to the television. And the media like the press, newspaper or news. So after 1930, especially from 1946 to at least 1956, at least, they talked Italian, and from that point. It became popular because the ones who knew the Italian language were few, only the rich ones could afford to go to the prestigious school or public. While the poor did not, some of them they went to public school. After the 1950, in 1960, school became free for everyone, and all classes of people, poor and rich, could go to school, so that's why. They talked dialect, of course, because at that time, they thought it was Italian since they came from the Kingdom of Italy, 😂😂. I know it because i studied it o swear, i lived in italy for 19 years from 2000 to 2019, i also did the school there and worked for a little short of time, and in the 2019 till today i lived in Germany, because i emigrated and moved to Germany because of Economic conditions. Anyway, Im albanian from Kosovo. I know Italian, of course, cause i lived there in the North, specifically in Bergamo town near Milan, about 60 km if you go by car and many other languages as well.
