The way I currently recommend is to use the Elusive Croaking Crab to spawn Sir Pinchalot in the Forbidden Reach every ~5 minutes. The obvious variable here is the price of these crabs. There was a time when they were <100g, currently 200-300g (and probably only going to rise as fewer people visit the reach). You only need ~50 crabs since you can expect 45 copper and 2 silver coins + some recipes, but obviously you can have amazing or terrible luck here. Only the person that summons the rare gets coins/recipes, because they come from a "summoner bonus" which is separate from loot.

I tried lunker fishing in 10.1.5 and it was abysmal, even with a 10+ group where you are constantly getting lunkers (often multiple at the same time) gave me a grand total of 1 copper (from >60 lunkers... yup). I found moderate success with just regular fishing since Perception can multiply your coins. But Sir Pinchalot is my MVP, after selling the recipes I ended up almost breaking even, since 1 recipe pays for ~10 crabs.

Great review. Getting the gold coins was the worse part of this quest line. Took forever. The rest, not so bad.

Trying to get it atm with dragonflight being free and not a single coin has dropped. Even killed some lunkers from another player and got nothing from it. Not had any conches drop either. What am i doing wrong?

I'm an idiot, I thought it was 100 of each fish and quit for the day with 65 of the carp. Now waiting for the servers to be back up
