Hero 8 Black:

Timewarp vs Timelapse - the Difference is that recording a Timewarp with your GoPro is more dynamic because you literaly hold your camera in your hand and walk with it, or ride etc, you are in the motion with the camera thus recording a dynamic video where you move for example through the city or walk around a bulding focusing on your object as point of interest. Your video is further stabilized in the camera by Hypersmooth stabilization eliminating all the shakes and vibrations while walking etc

In comparison to that while you record a Timelapse you have to have your camera as steady as its possible, ideally you want to mount your camera on a steady tripod and dont move that camera at all.
Timelapse allows you to focus on passing of time whether that gonna be clouds, cars, poeple, construction of a bulding etc the idea is that you record it over extended period of time, you can spend at least an 30 minutes, often an hour if not 3 hours just to get a 10-20 seconds video during which you coud see a whole sunset, day to night transition, stars moving on the sky etc. This video has to be mounted on a tripod because there is no stabilisation at all and its crucial to have every frame look exactly the same with the only motion provided by the subject of our video.
What would happend if you used Timewarp instead timelapse ? You would end up with a really long video, what would last 3 hours resulting in a 10 sec video could give you probably like 20 min or 30 min video if you used timewarp so it would be extreemely boring for sb to watch a day to night transition or sunset over such a long time, besides there is other peed difference between one and another... but lets not get into such details here.
IF you on the other hand decided to record a timelapse instead of timewarp then you would have some chaoitc unstabilised video that would be unwatchable due to lack of hypersmooth stabilization.
In this video I focus on 4 techiniques that I personally use when recording my travel videos and these are as follows:
- Dolly in / Dolly out , where you walk towards an objeect while doing so you can til the camera up if its tall and if you want to extend your video or make it look different you can reverse, so when you reach it you can tilt the camera down and walk back.
- then we have Circle/ Orbit movement where you simply walk around an object keeping it in the centre of your frame and record a timewarp. PLay with wide and linear, its easier to have it in the centre on Wide for some reason than Linead field of view.
- My personal favourite is overhead shot, where you walk over a long distance approach a bulding until it starts to be behind you and you keep tracking the object while conitnuing to walk forward, its really great and relatively easy, if there is sb with you dont be afraid to ask him or her to lead you as you want to focus on the object the entire time.
Lastly there is rotation shot , where you rotate your camera and walk forward :) but its hard.

Rotation Tip: Use a Monopod/Selfie Stick with a time-lapse rotating head... Then walk, using the Monopod/Selfie Stick like a boom mic, "pushing" through your space... This keeps everything smooth without worrying about the rotation.

An Inkee Falcon Gimbal would help a LOT! I have gotten some amazing footage using that with my GoPro Hero Black here in Germany. My ONLY complaint about this gimbal sofar is that I cannot use my Media Mod with it as the Media Mod and gimbal mount do not fit together... Love your videos! Kepp on teaching me new things to do with my cameras...

Good tutorial. But still, if the end result is shaky does applying a warp stabilizer help?

All very well telling your viewers what your preferred settings are but I think you need to explain why, & what effects the other settings have :/
